| ABOUT US |
Control System Engineering: CSA has completed many projects which involve the migration of older controls systems to state of the art systems such as RS3 or Provox to DeltaV migrations. We have many engineers on staff with FEED (Front End Engineering) study involvements, project design experience from conceptual to real implementation, project management, equipment specification and procurement, development of FRS (Functional Requirement Specifications) for control system hardware/software design and configuration, on-site construction management, and system checkout and startup. CSA has engineered many newly installed control systems for grass-root facilities to include PLC, DCS, and SIS type systems. Our engineering manager previously held the same position for a major Specialty Chemical manufacturer. His many years (20+) of experience of running control system engineering projects and in-depth knowledge of corporate engineering practices and requirements earns him the qualifications to effectively lead a team of engineers that can deliver the best engineered solutions for controls systems.
Advanced Process Control: CSA has implemented several advanced process control projects such as MPC (Model Predictive Control). On a recent project for a RS3 to DeltaV migration project, CSA used the retired RS3 historian files to build the MPC model. This MPC model immediately achieved tighter temperature control of glycerin splitters which had the end result of increasing process system through-put.
Batch Process Control: CSA has the project experience and references to prove our claim as being one of the best S88 SI’s on the market. For those of you who are not familiar with S88, in simplistic terms it is the most effective organizational methodology of how to program your batch and continuous type processes resulting in smart control, easy to maintain, easy to teach, easy to validate, and easy to expand code. On one recent project CSA redesigned a process of three Ethoxalation reactors into a single-path one reactor train. Two of the reactors were modified to be downstream storage and secondary level reaction type units. One of the reactors was maintained as an Ethoxalation reactor. The process change allowed more product recipes to be run per day resulting in an increase in system through-put.
Process Data Reporting: CSA listened to our customers and based on their needs we developed reporting software that was powerful but more importantly easy to use. Our customers were fed up with the complex nature in which reports were created and deployed. Our Easy Process Reporter software supports OPCDA, OPCHDA, OPC A&E, and Batch using flat files. Soon our software will be supporting OPC Batch and OPC SAP. Our reporting software has the capability of emailing reports to the desktop of the personnel in need. We are experts in process data reporting!
Custom Programming: CSA has written custom software applications tools which allow us to automate many of our common workflow jobs. When it comes to validation for our Pharmaceutical customers, we can auto produce IQ/OQ validation test protocols directly from structured FRS and DDS type documents saving countless hours and reducing man-power. On a recent project CSA auto produced a DDS (Detailed Design Specification) directly from a flat file of the DCS source code. This auto production of the DDS was used by one of our Pharmaceutical customers to retrospectively validate their process as no GAMP4 support documentation existed. CSA continuously helps our clients by automating many of the common workflow practices used in their site processes.
